September went pretty well heads up wise started off playing $23 turbos and I realised the competition is pretty much the same as 11$ up to when stacks are around 12bbs deep, the guys at this level tend to make huge compounded errors like they would at 11$ like for example many 11$ guys would raise/fold 3x at like 10 bbs while at 23$ they would raise call even with a really weak hand since they have the pot odds to do so. the swings at 23$ were pissing me off too much so decided to go back to the 10 euros after about 150 games.
MTT wise things didn't go so well ended up losing around $150 or so which was actually caused by me playing bad and lead me to come to a huge realisation that at the middle stages of the game you should really try to maintain a big chip stack rather than playing just to survive and squeeze into the money.
This month started of pretty well but i ended up going on monkey tilt and started playing some $57.50 heads ups and ended up losing around 500 dollars, now i've recuperated most of it and am now about $200 in profit for the month, pretty poor I know but thats how it goes sometimes. after analysing my stats and my situation, I've decided that gonna stick to grinding the 10 euro games where I have a much higher roi than at 23$ where I've had a 5% roi since june. so according to sharkscope I make $2.58 per game at 10 euros and $1.10 at the 23$. So even a retarded monkey can work out that from a pure profit perspective its better for me to play the 10 euros. Its probably the case that im really im good at killing fish and not so good ad killing decent players, whatever it is i dont do it for the bragging rights I do it for the cheques, so from now on to the end of the year im just gonna focus on grinding the 10 euros and maximising my profit by increasing volume, I can comfortably 2 table them already but i want to eventually be able to 3 table then 4 table them and get in around 1200 games a month or so. for now im jsut gonna work on 2 tabling and trying to get in 600 games a month.
Bonjour, First update for about a month and a half now. July was liek the wors tmonth in recent times, ended up being down most of the month untill around the last 10 days or so i ended up making it back and breaking even for the rest of the month. I felt liek the bad results were caused by me getting really unluck over the 1st few days then my game just went on a sidetrack and actually became worse.
At the start of this month heads up was pissing me the fuck off so I thought let me give mtts a try, ended up having quite a few good results at the 45-180 mans 10 tabling. this graph is my overall mtt results, looks pretty decent but only a small sample size.
I feel playing both mtts and heads up work pretty good since they both require different skills and allows you play larger volume because mtts can help you to deal with getting bad beats, multi tasking, endurance and that kind of stuff.
heads up wise, I've had a few sessions with cogdissonance and have seen some sick improvments in my heads up game. one of my biggest leaks I've found is that I don't focus enough on playing the style that most exploits my opponents playing style furthermore another realisation is that someone may play one style in one situation and another style in another situation for example LAG in position and Loose passive out of position.
This is the graph for the month
Playing: +$1113
Bonuses: +$100
Live Home Games: +$15.47(lol)
Total Months Profit: +$1228.47
Yeah so another best month for me, good to see that I am still making progress. I aim to be having +2k months regularly by the end of the year and I think I can do it if i keep progressing at the rate that I currently am and a bit more work on my game.
I've noticed when i check my results on sharkscope and the cashier compulsively i tend to be effected more by short term results and it takes up valuable time as well pondering on how my graph would look like if x or y happened so in order to combat this I plan to not check either of them between now and the 16th
This month has been pretty gay in some ways but good in others. I started off playing $20 heads up again running really well for like 60 games or so, then everything started to turn upside down from there, suck outs left right and center, still managed to maintain a positive roi though. Yesterday I was pretty convinced I was playing Jesus himself this guy would call any raise i made, so i decided to do a huge 3 bet with TT when he raised to like 50, I 3 bet to something like 300, flop comes something like 862, so i bet around 400 he calls, turn is a blank I bet again, river is a 3 and I'm all in, then he shows 63 for a rivered 2 pair? I mean where do these kind of fish come from? with all the bad luck I've had this month I'm lucky I've even made any money. Fish cause me so much stress sometimes, but I know I really love them deep down.
I wasn't able to get too much volume in since I was playing $20 an wanted to become more comfortable, now I feel more at ease playing them, if only I could have some better luck.after playing 231games this month I feel that there isn't much competition at the $20 so I I'm gonna move up to the $30 over the next few days whenever I feel like I'm playing good.
My aims for next month are to focus on putting in more volume at the $20 and move up to the $30 and hopefully if all goes well i can make some proper money.

Seriously guys! this is getting out of control, poker is so gay right now, been breaking even for the past 60 games, today had to have been the biggest joke, played 10 won 5 lost 5 and in like 4/5 I lost I got it in with the best hand, im definatley feeling like I must be playing Jesus or El Golden Boy or something. These are like the most spasticated hands ever
Currently going through a breaking even stretch right now, suckouts on the river and turn left right and center, since these guys are so wack its not turned into a losing streak, i've just been hovering up and down 3 buy ins. The breaking evenness is tilting me hard, so its that time again to take another 2 day break.
In other things I've realised Ive been putting a load of flab on my belly meanwhile my arms are lacking in musculos, so I feel its time to start hitting the gym again, ive been so unfit the past year and a half its becoming a joke, so i need to get some sort of routine sorted over the next couple of days.
Hi guys, its been a while since i've updated this thing didn't really play too many games last month, I moved over to paradise poker for a bit and I could have sworn that site was rigged, I started playing the €21 games and got overly fucked with the worst suckouts ever know to man, I decided to move back to bodog and grind $10 again. I played one of the new knockout heads up tourneys they have on pokerstars with about 450 people in it, they have a $5+$5 entry fee, $5 goes to the prize pool and 5$ for each person you knock out. The field was softer than girls tits and so I ended up killing nearly all my opponents, got to the final 12 and was playing a total spastic and rivered an straight and shoved he insta-called with a rivered flush :( so got knocked out in 11th place. ended up winning around $75 including the bounties, i was really aiming for the $640+ 1st prize but it wasn't to be, maybe next time. I finished the month about +$350 or so, pretty far of my target but i got sidetracked with a whole load of stuff then got fucked at the $20, so yeah that's how it goes.
Onto this month, I told myself enough is enough, I need to be playing these $20 so I decided to load up 6x tables of 25nl cash just to get the fear of playing higher stakes out of my mind and so far it seems to have worked, I don't worry as much about losing games or losing like 3 buy ins the way i did last month. So far this month I've played 60 20$s this month and so far has been going well.
so up $424 so far fo the month, pretty good, I'm gonna keep playing $20 for another 90 games just to increase my comfort level, if everything keeps going well i will start bumhunting at the $30 and play those for a while.
Just seen the fuckry of the week on worldstar...
I would be pretty upset if that was me, still more updates later on, adios.
Played the scoop $16 event today, got bodied in the 1st round by a guy who was pretty solid mainly a mtt player with like $9k winnings or something like that but he still played heads up like a wasteman, I felt like I had a big edge and was always thinking one step ahead of him throughout the 30 or so hands we played then this hand came about
Poker Stars $15.00+$1.50 No Limit Hold'em Tournament - t30/t60 Blinds - 2 players - View hand 676676

Hero shows K T (two pair, Tens and Nines)
flush634 wins t8530
He started 3 betting me pretty light so I knew that flop hit him with a draw or a pair of some sort, so I was not looking to give him a cheap price to pay hence the raise on the flop, then obviously he made a mistake of calling with his open ender with like 30% equity, then decides to spazz out then shoves the turn when it bricks and by magic he hits his straight like what has been happening to me all day today and yesterday, but its okay that's how it goes, its nothing to a bawsssss you win some and you lose some although that $22,593.89 1st place prize money would have looked pretty nice in my backpack.
Another interesting hand occurred in a 1$ 16 man satellite for the $16 scoop
Poker Stars $1.10+$0.05 No Limit Hold'em Tournament - t10/t20 Blinds - 2 players - View hand 676681
Hero checks, RouNdeRs2O10 bets t720 all in, Hero calls t720
Final Pot: t1640
Hero shows T J (a pair of Jacks)
RouNdeRs2O10 shows 6 8 (high card Queen)
Hero wins t1640
A bit of background information, I could sense that I had him on tilt with my continuousraising and c betting, so he started insta 3 betting me and insta c betting me, then he insta bet the flop that automatically told me he didn't have the queen because if he did he would have taken fractions of a second longer to bet, so I played my pair of jacks as if it were top pair, then with his shove on the river I assumed I was ahead unless he rivered trips or 2 pair or something and so was an easy call. I've been playing $20s again keep getting sucked out on with straight draws and stuff but it's okay becauseI'm just aiming to feel comfortable playing at the limit, if i win then its a bonus, I just at least want to break even for now and emphasize correct decision making, I will focus on taking out these wastemen after. I've played 6x20$ today and won 3 lost 3. one of the ones I lost, I went all in with AQpreflop got called by AT and he hits a T on the flop obv. In on of the other games I got it in on the flop with TT and the guy calls with an open ended straight draw and guess what happened? he hit! So yeah today not been a good day for variance but however I am happy about the decisionsI've made since they were all the mathematically correct ones just results wise, they just didn't go my way (I'm trying to adopt a less results orientated mindset see)
This is me right now, 5 seconds in is where my AA gets rivered by 75o preflop all in
Today has been such a joke, ive been playing the wackest guys ever on the earth calling down with any hand and constantly hitting straights and flushes on the fucking river arrrrrrrrrrrrrrghhhhhh how the fuck do I get fucked up by these dickheads bossman actually has the fishbowl next to his name, kmt.
I will be back in action later on today after I calm down and will be back with avengence ready to take these fish off road like a food standards inspector at walthamstow market.
There was a post on pokerstrategy.com where everyone posted thier set up, so may aswel post mine here too.

April has been a pretty good month, I stuck to grinding 10.50$ and 11.50$ and was running really well so I couldn't help but play a few 21$ and 23$ along the way which also went well. I tried to focus on controlling tilt, and only playing when I wasn't tilt venerable and it seemed to have worked, i was losing less money when i was feeling bad and making more when i was feeling good. As i described in my last post i tried to take 2 days off due to my head feeling like apressure cooker but 2 days wasn't enough so I ended up taking about 6 days off instead, so I did miss a bit of volume there but i cant really think of it in that way since if i continued playing I would have been more likely to lose moneys.
Results wise I started the month at $1581.87 and finished at $2353.19
Playing: +$731.31 Bonuses:+$40
Month profit: +$771.31
So best month so far, but i think i should be able to do 1000$+ if this month goes well. current bankroll is currently at $2353.19 I'm gonna start making monthly withdrawals since at the stakes I'm playing there is no need to have more than 30 buy ins + my ISA needs to be filled up for an investment I'm making later this year.
sharkscope on My bodog account is still missing about 150 games or so although I think they was from earlier becuase I havn't noticed many games missing recently. But yeah I'm happy about the shape of the graph which is showing consistency and the reduction of downswing sizes after 225 games where i started to focus on controlling tilt a lot more.
With other things I've also started teaching my self Portuguese using a course called pimsluer, i already taught myself Spanish using it and fsi now i've decided Portuguese would be a good next language to learn since its quite similar and so wouldn't be as much hassle to learn.
My goals for this month are to defiantly be a reg at the 21$/23$ games its getting ridiculous now since I have a 21% roi at 10.50$/11.50$ and the competition is so wack I don't think I'm learning as much as I could be if I was playing better opponents.
I'm gonna aim to get an average of 10 games a day, I know I can play more, but since I'm gonna be playing a new limit i don't wanna put too much pressure on playing when I can't play my A game.
My head is actually killing me played a ton of games the past 5 days now every time I play a donk and I get stressed my head kills, so im most definitely taking a break for the next 2 days. Result wise 2 days ago I lost around $60 or s, I then made back the same amount again on full tilt yesterday, I dunno exact figures becuase after reading the poker mindset, one thing ist says is thta you shouldn't keep checking how much your up and down, so im just gonna stick to checking it like every time i make a blog post or something significant occurs.
after a slow 1st few days the month has started going well, my bankroll has finaly grown over $2000 which is great to think when I 1st started off plaing $1 sngs it took me a whole month just to make $50 profit and a 10BI swing of $10 would put me on severe life tilt.
I started the month at $1581.87 and currently i am on $2035.99 so $454.12 profit so far. of the profit $30 was from a bonus i had redeemed and about $15 from playing cash games the rest from heads up. Speaking of profits the sharkscope tracker for bodog is waaaaayyyy offf. it ays ive only played 236 games when I play an average of around 10+ games a day with a total profit of $465. when i deposited $1292.44 and am currently on $2035.99 making that $743.55 in total minus $140 from bonuses and $15 from cash game profits making it $588.55 so yeah sharkscope is pretty gay right now.
Other things im currently reading the pokermindset its a realy good read and has helped me deal with alot of tilt problems. Although i said i was gonna stick to $11.50 games this month i lied, I will be mixing in some $23 games aswel since i feel like i am destroying the $11.50 level.
March was a pretty decent month around $320 in profit including bonuses over stars and bodog, would have been around $500 if i didn't donk off in the 23$ on stars, but hey that's how it goes. so yeah a pretty standard month, hopefully I can at least double that next month since I'm gonna be on my grizzly like a grizzly bear.
Regarding downswings, one thing I noticed is when i go through period of variance i actually start to play pretty wack and the biggest leak i have found if that after I've lost like 2 games due to getting sucked out on (no homo) I fail to make proper reads and just start playing a generic lag style regardless of the opponent which is obviously a disaster against a calling station, therefore causing a 2 game downswing to become a 5 game one. In order to combat this wackness, whenever I play a opponent after I have the original read of the opponents laying type i will put a note on them about there paying style, so that way while I'm tilting and playing like a spastic(not thinking) I don't have to think much and just read the note.
Another thing I've done is turned of the player chat feature because these guys on bodog love to chat fuckries which actually puts me on tilt and so far has been working out pretty +ev
Had a few more attempts at the 23$ with the same old break even story, I feel that I'm playing good but for some reason shit doesn't seem to be coming my way. Here's a graph of my bodog
23$ adventure.
Results are looking pretty wack in comparison to my $11.50 graphs on stars and bodog
$858 profit over 549 games not bad, obviously not the amounts im looking for in the long run but fine for now. So I've decided that ill stick to what im good at for the time being and stay at the 11.50 turbos for the whole of may since im way more comfortable playing them and can easilly play a much larger volume since I tilt less and don't need to take as many breaks. So my goal for may is to play 600 games over the month, normally I play around 350 or so, so 600 will be a nice little challenge.
Its been a weird week, started off with my roll dropping from around $1300 to about $1077(yeah not good) bad runs at the 20 seem like a constant recurrence, it was o bad i had to even drop down to the $5 just to get my mind back, managed to grind back to around $1130 then whey $150 new year sign up bonus finally cleared. After clearing this bonus I decided to leave pokerstars in search of better bonus deals and rakeback tried to create another account at full tilt (old one had no rake back) which resulted in them instantly closing my account with the money in it now im still waiting for the money back. following the advice of a 2+2er i decided to join bodog which apparently was over abundant with fish, which is defiantly true, here I have encountered the worst players in my life, the $22+1 here seem softer than the $10 at full tilt, all in all playing here has brought me up to $1479. Hopefully if i continue to run well over the next 50-100 games ill move up to the $33+1.50
I learnt a very valuble heads up lesson yesterday, when playing heads up, only play when you can play your A/B game. Normally I can play around 15 heads up sngs in a short period of time playing my A/B game after that it actually starts to physically hurt my head then my C/D/E game starts to get in and and can literally see the money going down the drain. Yesterday I got off to a flying start up $110 dollars after about 15 games, I have $150 sign up bonus that i have to clear on my pokestars account and since the $20 games on pokerstars hadnt been going my way I decided once I had cleared this bonus I would move my roll to full tilt and take advantage of thier $600 sign up bonus and 27% rakeback. I had to play around 50 more games in order ot clear the $150 bonus on stars so I tried to get it all done yesterday. After the 1st 20 games, everything started to flall apart, i was palying worse than them guys on sharkscope with the big fish bowls next to thier name, yet I still kept playing in order to clear the bonus, the result? the graph speaks for itself
So from this, in future when I anticipate my C game or worse kicking in I will end the session, do something else until I feel fit enough to play. F.Y.I ive got about 20 more games to play before ive cleared the bonus, them im off to tilt for some rakeback.
Hey guys im Chris from london and have been playing poker for around 10 months now. I started off a losing player and blew my bank roll of about $150, I then joined Pokerstrategy.comwhere I signed up and got the $50 sign up bonus and learned how to play 9 man sngs, from these + playing 6 max cash I've built my roll up to over $1000. From loooking at peoples sharkscopes heads up sngs seems like the only variation where people seem to make alot of money on a constant basis, so this is the game I plan to focus my attention on. I started playing from the 2$ heads up sngs now im in between the 10$ and 20$ husngs.
This graph shows my overall progress with heads up sngs from the $2-$20 buy in level. alot of the dips have been caused by me going on bad runs at the $20 level. I think the skill level at the 20s is similar to the 10s but I think i play worse at the $20 knowing that I am playing with twice as much money.
Below is my heads up graph up to $11
im currently destroying them with an 18% roi, if only the same could be said about the 20$+
This has been my bad run at the $20+ games, I think i have been putting the pussy of playing higer stakes on a pedestal too much, then end up not bringing my a game, then when I lose more than 3 matches in a row I start playing ultra bad. When I play the $10 games I can lose like 4 games in a row and still remain calm and collected ready to play another game, it is this demeanor I need to bring to the $20 games.
This graph shows my overall progress on pokerstars, one of the sites I play on.
Right now I am crushing the $11 turbos and feeling really confident with my game, I will make the transition into the $20 games, this time instead of just playing a whole load of $20 games in a row, I will just play a few $11 then when I feel like i'm playing well, mix in a few $23s, then some $11s and so on, that way I can get more used to playing higher stakes and play them when I am playing my A game
